This pattern comes with a ton of mix and match options so you're free to choose the ones you like the most. This course is suitable for confident beginners, not absolute beginners. I will expect you to know your way around a sewing machine and to have sewn at least a few projects to completion, these do not have to be garments. Techniques taught & What’s Included: PDF patterns - from buying to printing, unravelling any confusions surrounding this way of purchasing patterns Measurements - how and where to measure, how to decide your size, understanding ease and what difference does it make Fabric choices - what’s suitable and what’s not. What’s a Toilé and why should I make one? Laundering & Pressing - it’s not just washing and ironing Cutting Layouts - transferring markings and what do they all mean anyway Basic sewing techniques - including but not limited to: using pins, clips, pattern storage, needle plate markings, plus many other tips and tricks to make your sewing life easier Staystitching Darts - 2D piece of cloth to 3D garment Seam finishes Interfacing - why we stiffen/strengthen certain areas Facings Button plackets Buttonholes - placement and sewing Setting in Sleeves Topstitching Hemming You'll use a sewing machine at our dedicated sewing studio, and receive an A0 print out of the pattern pages required for the project in your size, you will also be able to use all the tools, irons etc provided in the sewing studio. You will be in a class of only 4 people so you will get the tuition and help you need. The class will be taught over 8 weeks, with some homework likely to be required, please factor this into your decision to book, as it is important you turn up to the next session ready to begin that weeks’ session and not finishing last weeks. Our aim is for everyone to complete their dress so we do need to stay on track however this cannot be an absolute guarantee, we will ensure you know how to finish up if this is the case. What’s not included The actual pdf pattern from Tilly and the Buttons, fabric or notions. All materials will need to be purchased separately (they do not have to be purchased from me but they must be suitable for the project). Normal 2 day cancellation policy applies.
