Not personally, but Simon our engineer runs Bay Sewing Machine Services. He can be contacted on 07834899264. Servicing starts at £55, drop off and collection available at the shop. Please note that he can no longer work on computerized Bernina, Pfaff, or Husqvarna machines

Every one of us that stitches is a sewist; also because the word "sewer" when written has a whole different meaning! Using the term Sewist also allows us to include all types of people who create, without having to differentiate between what type of stitching you do. My hope is that The Sewistry can become a place for all us sewists to belong

In short no, I've been sewing for quite a while but I don't really make, adjust, and wear close fitting garments enough to be able to teach this to someone else. For more advanced techniques I recommend Chris at The Studio Lancaster and Artybird in Carnforth

General T&C's for all classes: Under 18's will only be allowed if booked along with an accompanying adult. Cancellation policy - 2 days required for a full refund. If you cancel inside the 2 day period, no refund will be issued unless we manage to fill your place, please be assured all efforts will be made by us to do so but no guarantee of this can be given. All classes require a minimum of 2 people to go ahead, we will contact you 48 before the class if we have to cancel due to a lack of people booked. All class times stated are approximate. We try to overestimate the amount of time a class will take to allow for all levels of sewist to be able to complete their project in a relaxed manner. 10% shop on the day discount does not apply to machines sorry as the prices are not set by me. Adult & Young Person special condition - in addition to the general conditions above: As the booker of this class, I am over 18 and understand the class is for me plus one young person under 18. We recommend a minimum age of 11, but you know your young person best. Sewing involves many sharp/hot objects, so you should be confident they can control these. They will also be expected to keep up with the adults in the room so you should bear this in mind too. Under 18's are not allowed unless accompanied by a fee paying adult attending the same class. Regrettably I don't have enough room to allow non attendees into the school since places are limited to only 4 already. Please see our Parent & Child series classes where you can attend and learn to sew together.

We will provide all tools and sometimes materials, unless otherwise stated in the booking information so please read the class description carefully. If you have fabric or tools that you prefer to use, bring them along and if that can be accommodated, it will. If you have any concerns get in touch here or use the chat function

No, we have 4 x Brother A150's for you to use, and in fact, it's easier & quicker to just use those. If however you really want to bring your own machine, please speak to us before booking as most lessons are planned with our machines, ready to go, in mind
