Coming this Spring! Dates TBC Over 4 weeks come and make this simple co-ord set, wear out and about, or indoors as pyjamas. There's lots of good construction skills here for the confident beginner, including the absolute basics of trouser making. What we'll cover: - Finding PDF patterns, downloading and how to deal with them once obtained - Reading pattern instructions and figuring out what size to make, what fabric to use, and how much of it you'll need - Understanding how and where to measure, what that means and how it translates to the pattern - Fabric preparation and why we do it - What all those pattern markings mean - Cutting techniques with different methods for you to find one you like - Simple construction techniques to make the pyjamas - Seam finishes including the option to try an overlocker - Hemming You don't need to be an excellent sewist, but I do ask that you know your way around a sewing machine. You can thread one, fill a bobbin & load it etc. Ideally you've completed a few projects already and are looking to increase your skills. Sewing machines in our studio are Brother A150 so no need to bring yours. There are also plenty of tools and notions available for you to use. The pattern is a free download from The Assembly Line so no extra cost. You can use any woven (non stretch) fabric that's suitable for the project. It could be an ideal way to either use up fabric you have already, or support a local charity shop buying a duvet cover, sheet, or something similar. Fabrics are also available at the shop if that's your preference. Under 16's are welcome but must be accompanied by someone 18+ who is also attending. Please try to arrive around 10 minutes before the session start time to allow us to say hello, get you a drink made, allocate you a machine and settle into the studio.
