Historical pockets have been on my mind for a while now. I kept seeing those detachable/tie on pockets in old illustrations as a way for women to carry their belongings hands free since their clothes didn't have any.

Then I decided I needed one for my belt but I couldn't find a pattern I liked, so I made one.

This is my updated twist on a pocket. It's smart, sleek and stylish. It's big enough for your phone, purse, keys, and even a bottle of water. It attaches with a belt loop since that's what works for me, but you could hack it to attach differently if you wanted. It has card slots, and a zipped inner pocket for more safety of your important belongings.

It also comes in a smaller size if carrying a bottle around isn't important to you.

The pattern comes as 6 A4 tiled pages, or 4 A4 tiled pages for the smaller version. You will need to join some of these pieces together. I recommend masking or washi tape as it behaves better under the iron.

Instructions with photos are included, you will need to know how to insert a zip.

The pocket is made to sit on your right hand side. If you wanted to make it for your left, you will need to flip the inner and front pieces over, and insert the zip with the pull to the right rather than the left.

PDF files are available for instant download, you will not receive a physical product.  You will also receive an email with a link that will last for 30 days.
