What ya Sewing for Me Made May?

May is approaching fast and if you're into a bit of social media and sewing then you've probably seen #MeMadeMay before.

It's the month sewists show off what they've been making using the above hashtag. It's fantastic for getting some inspiration and discovering new patterns.

So which makes are you planning or have you already made then you'll then share in May?

I'm working through my list from a few weeks back.

I've made #NinaLeeCarmel, and honestly, I LOVE IT. it's such a great pattern, easy enough to make and fabulous to wear. I feel like I can waft about in it happily all day, it's another of my secret pyjama outfits (outfits that maintain such a level of comfort that they could be pyjamas).

I also finished my #ClosetCoreKalle with the popover placket variation. This was a bit more challenging to sew, but very satisfying to make and it looks lovely on. The high/low, deep, curved hem gives such a luxurious vibe to an otherwise simple looking shirt.

I'm on the verge of cutting out my next #PaperTheoryZadie, a gorgeous Japanese navy blue fabric that I just had to have the last of before it sold out.

I'm after the perfect culotte pattern. I don't mind an elasticated waist at all, for ease of wear, but I prefer a flatter front and more gathering happening at the back. I've got a few patterns in my drive, but they're not quite right.

I'm looking at trousers from the Swim Style Tamarama Set at the moment. The front waistband piece is longer than the back one, and has a waist tie as well as some elastic, which I think this will enable me to push more gathering to the back and keep a flatter front without compromising on comfort. It's also a full length trouser, but that's just a matter of cutting it shorter. It also has pockets which is pretty much non-negotiable these days.

So tell me what you're making, I'm desperate to see, come to the shop wearing it if you like, tell me all about it and let me snap a pic for your very own #MeMadeMay Moment!

Are you joining me to make a co-ord set, or a wardrobe staple t-shirt?

If you're not making, why not? What can I do to help you get your sewjo back!?

Happy Sewing,

Claire x
