Come and make this lovely Spring sew; The Verona Jacket by Tessuti is a cropped, easy to throw on over anything jacket, with exposed seams for a touch of stylish detail. This 4 week course is aimed at the confident beginner sewists who know how to use a machine and have finished a few projects to completion. If you need to learn some basics first take a look at some of our other classes which may be more suitable. Techniques taught & What’s Included: - PDF patterns - from buying to printing, unravelling any confusions about this new way of purchasing patterns - Measurements - how and where to measure, how to decide your size, understanding ease - Fabric choices - what’s suitable and what’s not - Cutting Layouts - transferring markings and what do they all mean anyway - Basic sewing techniques - inc. but not limited to: using pins, clips, pattern storage, needle plate markings, tips and tricks to make your sewing life easier - Staystitching - Exposed seams - Sewing with a walking foot - Working with a bulkier fabric Use of a sewing machine at our dedicated sewing studio, and an A0 print out of the pattern pages required for the project in your size, you will also have use of all the tools in the sewing studio. Some homework may be required, please factor this into your decision to book, as it is important you turn up to the next session ready to begin that weeks’ session. Our aim is for everyone to complete their Verona so we do need to stay on track however this cannot be guaranteed, we will ensure you know how to finish up if you don’t manage this in the class. What’s not included - The PDF pattern, fabric or notions. All materials will need to be purchased separately (they do not have to be purchased from me but they must be suitable for the project). Under 18's will only be allowed if booked along with an accompanying adult. Cancellation policy - 2 days required for a full refund. If you cancel inside the 2 day period, no refund will be issued unless we manage to fill your place, please be assured all efforts will be made by us to do so but no guarantee of this can be given. Please try to arrive around 10 minutes before the session start time to allow us to say hello, and get you settled in to the studio.
