Do you have an overlocker sitting there unused because you’re just a little bit scared of it? Not quite sure what to use it for? Heard horror stories of threading and are afraid to tackle it? Let me help take a little mystery out of it in our Stitch Studio. I’ll show you the absolute basics using my own overlocker, and you’ll complete a series of small tasks to practice what you’ve learned using yours. We’ll cover: - What is an overlocker? - What does it do? - What are all those bits, dials and switches? - Threading and which threads are appropriate - Needles and how to change them - Basic troubleshooting - Basic maintenance - Basic adjustments - 4 thread overlock stitch and its uses - Tips and tricks to make using your overlocker easier £50 Approx 3 - 4 hours (including a short break for drinks and and snacks) with Claire You will need: - A 4 thread overlocker which MUST be in good working order - contact me if you’re unsure - The manual for your specific machine - The needle changing screwdriver/hex key/tool, if you’re not sure, bring all the extra bits that came with your machine - 4 cones/spools of suitable thread, if you have them (there are some available in the shop if you don’t, 10% discount will be available on the day) - Any spares (like appropriate needles) if you have them We will provide: - Fabrics for the small tasks - Notes for you to keep, you’ll be free to annotate as we go - Drinks and biscuits, but if you want a small bite for lunch please bring it with you - 10% shop discount on the day (not applicable to machines sorry!) Under 18's will only be allowed if booked along with an accompanying adult. Cancellation policy - 2 days required for a full refund. If you cancel inside the 2 day period, no refund will be issued unless we manage to fill your place, please be assured all efforts will be made by us to do so but no guarantee of this can be given. Please try to arrive around 10 minutes before the session start time to allow us to say hello, and get you settled in to the studio.
